Sustainability is central to everything we do at Van Straaten. With the Van Straaten Textile Recycle Service, our new recycling program for used visuals, we offer our customers a circular solution to significantly reduce their ecological footprint without compromising on quality.
RECYCLING PRODUCTION WASTE
Van Straaten has been consciously recycling production waste for many years. Thanks to our ISO 14001 certification, we’ve made this process fully transparent and can identify areas for further improvement. This has led to the creation of a new recycling program. Instead of processing waste as such, it is now returned to our supplier in big bags. This reduces the footprint by extending the lifecycle of the raw materials used.
RECYCLING USED VISUALS
Customers can now return their used visuals to us for recycling. These fabrics are either recycled into insulation materials or upcycled into new yarn for reuse.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Customers collect their used visuals, remove the keder edging, and sort them by substrate into big bags. We collect the big bags when delivering new prints, or customers can bring them to us. We ensure proper processing through our supplier and track how much material is recycled.
